Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I’ve been on this health and wellness, holistic, and spiritual journey for some time now. My career was in the medical field for almost 20 years, specifically in the cosmetic industry. I began in Cosmetic Dentistry, moved on briefly to dermatology, and landed most of my career in Plastic Surgery. I was the Practice Manager in all these practices except Cosmetic Dentistry. I’m very type-A. LOL

I loved my career and learned so much about this niche and the medical and surgical fields.

You’re probably thinking how awesome it is to be in the Cosmetic field. It wasn’t all fun and games in Plastic Surgery. It’s a very competitive business and had its hard times. But the perks were great! Ironically, my passion for holistic health and spirituality coincided with my career in the cosmetic field. They don’t always go hand in hand.

I had my fair share of people being skeptical of my health, being vegetarian, which I was for six years during this time. Still not sure why everyone had an issue with my eating habits. But they did. Perhaps they were projecting since they usually ate something unhealthy.

Nevertheless, I followed my passion for learning holistic/alternative methods for feeling better on all levels. I didn’t always believe in mainstream medical ideologies, but I am thankful for all I learned during this time.

Tired of Feeling Sick and Tired

Unfortunately, I started having acid reflux, gallbladder, lower back pain, hypothyroidism, leaky gut, and my lipid panel was out of control. My triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL levels were high and HDL low. In turn, I saw different doctors but never felt better. All I wanted was not to be tired, feel sluggish, stop getting dizzy, not get indigestion, and feel better.

Why Is This So Hard?

I tried all the recommended pills and low-fat diets recommended by my doctors, but they never seemed to work for me. I was even told to go on a low, low-fat diet. That was impossible and didn’t even help my lipid panel.

At this point, you start to give up and think, why is no one helping me get better and finding the correct answer for ME!? Stop giving me general recommendations and cookie-cutter options. I’m not a cookie. So I began to find answers myself.

I even did a 30-day juice cleanse that worked wonders. This was the best I felt health-wise since the journey began.

So, my quest for achieving physical well-being began. I researched and researched and was my guinea pig in finding what worked for me. I cannot recommend if something will work for you for sure. But I invite you to find the best results for you actively.

I’m a bit of a research nerd. I love to dig and research topics until I understand things well. This blog allows me to share all I learn and research with you. I want to inspire you not to make the same mistakes I’ve made.

No two people are the same. Therefore, no two people can have the same outcome on anything. This medical mantra is true for all of us. Stop treating yourself like a cookie. You are wonderfully different. Find what works for you and your body.

This sparked a journey that led me on several different paths to health and wellness. I realized it’s not solely physical well-being that is needed but emotional and spiritual well-being, too.
